Hello, I am Sofia
Project manager. Parent. An expatriate living in Madrid, Spain.
Several years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn't in the cards for our long-term plans. As with many international assignments, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The initial months were demanding— unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complicated than expected.
The Adjustment Period
Culture shock, doubt, and hands-on learning were part of it. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built Zorve Nalyr Kep
Most online content boiled down to either corporate relocation tips or shallow tourism material. What was missing was a genuine, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap— practical guidance drawn from real life in Spain.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Real-world experience from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated only when something truly changes
This site ISN'T:
- not an official tourism authority resource
- not a paid review platform
- not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Spain goes on, and the learning process continues. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, please get in touch.
Best regards,
Sofia
